Hula Hooping fun!

Hula hooping is something I briefly mentioned in a post a few months back in the Maker faire post. I know its not Gaming but it is wonderfully geeky and I love it!
Well the hoop bug has bit me hard and this post is just a little tidbit on that.
I have found that hula hooping is not only a way to get active but it also helps me relax. I already love to dance so it was almost natural for me to get into the groove with a hoop. I’m not saying that I’m a trick pro or anything (far from it at this point) but I can hoop for hours and it never gets boring!

Here are some links that you can check out about hula hooping!

Guitar Rising update (pout)

http://www.guitarrising.com/about.html
“Guitar Rising is a music video game where the player plays a real guitar as cued by the game’s visuals. Following rock music sequences and streaming notes, players play guitar melodies and rhythms. Beginner difficulty levels are designed for non-guitar players and hard difficulties will challenge experienced guitarists.”Product to be released in 2009.

This is a game update post but really more of a pouting session for Nana~
I really wanted this under the Yule tree with my name on it!Looks like it will have to wait for 09 now…Hopefully in time for a Birthday!

Repo! The genetic opera

“I think that the REPO! Road Tour must be seen to be believed. REPO! has inspired a community, and that community shows up in force on the road tour to bond, sing, and show off their fan-made REPO! costumes and props. I imagine this is what being there on the ground floor of The Rocky Horror Picture Show experience 33 years ago must have been like.” Stated Terrance Zdunich Actor/Co Creator."

This is EXACTLY the way I feel!
This movie is amazing! It is definitely going to be the next costumed fan craze!
We went to see Repo with my Sister in-law, my friend and my friend’s husband.
I don’t think my friends hubby liked it too much but OMG I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen! Plus we saw it at the Alamo here in Austin TX so we had food and my favorite cider! I could just imagine a spaghetti Repo night at the Alamo!
Just like the RHPS you MUST go see this movie at least once in your lifetime!
I’m going to buy it as soon as it hits DVD!
There are visions of costumes dancing in my head!

GO SEE IT! http://www.repo-opera.com/

WOTLK Midnight release, Austin TX

WOW: Wrath of the lich king
We promised our son “Little D the terror” last May for his Birthday that we would take him to the midnight release of WOTLK. So here we are bundling up for another chilly midnight release night at our local game stop.
It’s not as cold as it was for the release of burning crusade (it was snowing for that one!) but still chilly and on a school night!
We have two cold children and two cold parents standing in line to get four hot copies of the game!
The kids made out like bandits though the guy at game stop handed out sour candies and I even convinced the guy to give me the midnight release poster for Little D!
WOOT I love free LOOT!
Afterwards it was off to taco bell and then too….
Make our Death knights DUH!
I am so freaking excited!

Maker Faire Austin TX

This weekend we attend the Maker Faire here in Austin TX. There is so much to see and do it’s just amazing! Up and down the massive merchant rows you can find many “How to” and “Samples” of some really cool things! They had a giant working Mousetrap game, battling bots with and without fire, an awesome laser show band, and my favorite R2D2 and R2D4. I just HAD to get my photos stealing a kiss from R2D2! Then he followed me around a bit too funny! I would have taken him home! The kids really enjoyed the laser piano, and we all enjoyed the hula-hoop station! I’m going to make us some hula-hoops for sure! Interested in attend the maker faire? See their website here! http://makerfaire.com/The only thing that made me a bit sad was there wasn’t any steam punk stuff that I seen at our Austin show. “Pout” I seen photos online of some really awesome steam punk things and I was really hoping to get my hands on some project or new gear!
