Gamer family is making a move!

Farewell Austin Texas! We have had a great 13 years here met a lot of really cool cos Play friends and the beauty of your Parks will be greatly missed. Gamer Family is packing up to move back to our home state of Florida. I've already joined new Cos Play groups and forums via Facebook, checking out all the great Cons in the Jacksonville/Tampa area. I have found some really cool groups to include a really cool local Steam Punk Ball that's happening around the time we should arrive! Also Vivat! Trimaris!! If you don't know what I'm talking about definitely click that link! Woot! Woot!

Howrse US version

For those who don't know, Howrse is an online game. It is FREE to play but there are certain things, like in most games, that can only be bought with real money.

HOWRSES!?

When I started Howrse US, 28 day ago, I thought it was going to just be normal horses. I was wrong! Not only can you have horses but ponies, pegasus, donkeys, and unicorns as well. And then there is 25 different breeds to pick from. And oh my gosh you can even pick between different beautiful coats.
My personal favorites for breeds are Gypsy Vanner, Curly, Knabstrupper, and Paint Horse. (Shown in order below)

This is MY Gypsy, her name is Bellatrix Lestrange- based off of Harry Potter.

This is my MOMS Curly. Right now her name is MamaNana, but will later be changed to one of Firefly's many female characters.

This is MY baby Knabstrupper. Her name is Luna Lovegood, once again from Harry Potter

This is MY baby Paint Horse. She doesn't have a name at this time but she'll be Harry Potter related as well.

PLAYING?

While it is a game- owning howrses, taking care of them, aging them, breeding them with one of your own or other players, doing competitions, completing objective, and even selling them. Its not a very 'active' game. As in you don't actually get to play with your horse. There are no animations, no watching your horse when its playing, competing, eating, or sleeping.
However, you can earn Equus, which is the game currency, to purchase things to help your horse train and compete. And if you are a player who wishes to do more you could purchase, with real money, things to give your horse more of an advantage.

Besides the horses, and once you're reached at least day 20 of play, you can open up an Equestrian Center. You can choose to place your own howrses inside, which is free, or allow others to place theres, allowing you to make money for you to upgrade the center.
For example, I am fairly new to the game so my EC is still in a beginners level. It currently will hold only 9 horses. I can grow crops to allow the other played staying here to have Carrots or Mashes. Which by the way there are 3 different kinds; Health which gives back 10% of life, Energy which gives back 5% to do things, and Caloric which gives 10% back to morale. It is relatively easy to keep them all at high percentage if you know what to do. Sadly to learn what to do I lost 7 horses... But now I have 12 lovely ones who are living, breeding, and growing just fine!
In memory of those I have lost </3
Heaven Tab will be provided once you have lost them

HOW AM I DOING?

Wondering how your game play is compared to others? Well we have a Tab for that! A Ranking Tab that is. Under which you can choose to look at General ranking, Breeders, Horses, Equestrian centers, and creations. And once you go where you want you can view your own placement by clicking the "show my position" or "Display the position of my equestrian center" at the top. If you are looking for an easy way to just see how you're doing you can go to your page and see how many horses you are breeding, how your EC is dong, your friends, and people who have stopped by to congratulate you on your play. If you are looking for more action from other players you can use the FREE and SAFE Howrse Info to make your page more attractive. It IS free and safe! My mom, many other players, and myself all use it.

HOW I FEEL?

I was looking for a more active game, animations and such, but I must say after 28 days I am beginning to really enjoy it! I have made new friends, some of which not even in the US! So just to be clear, there are multiple Howrse servers. All by the same people but slightly different to branch out over the world. Now with that said I am sad to say that you can't communicate with players using a different server, i.e. InternationalAustralian, USAGermanCanadian, UK, and French.

FOR FRENCH!!! Equideow.com or ouranos.equideow.com. This is because you can pick from two servers "Gaia" or "Ouranos" which have different breeds and are separate servers.

The only sad things I can find with the game now is that we can't communicate with other servers, can't buy the same advantage giving items with equus as real money, and if you don't play daily you could lose your horses!

Overall I think its really nice. Don't unusually need to depend on other players to do anything so if you have a kid playing, youngest i've seen being 13, they shouldn't be talking to strangers. I have spoke with a few players older than myself and they are indeed mature adults so if your kid can't handle being respectful they should stick to younger players- who usually have their age so that we know the difference. If you are worried about who they may be talking to you may block and/or report the other player.

I got help on other servers from http://howrse.wikia.com/wiki/Server (=

                     HAPPY HOWRSING EVERYONE!

And then there were three..

Gamer family minus one. Today my divorce was finalized after two and half years of separation. Sad that the Ex has to distance himself, we could have stayed friends...But life moves on with or without his approval! GAME ON!
